We aren't for everyone. If you're just looking for someone to manage investments, we're not the best fit. However, if you're looking for a comprehensive, integrated approach to your overall financial situation, let's talk.
First, we have an introductory phone/Zoom call to learn more about each other, your situation, and your goals, then we will walk you through our process.
If that goes well, we start gathering information from you in order to do a preliminary analysis of your income, spending, investments, debt, insurance, taxes, employer benefits, Social Security, insurance, wills/trusts, powers of attorney and goals to understand your needs.
Then we discuss our observations and if and how we feel that we can add value and what that will cost.
Now take some time to think about it, ask clarifying questions, and make sure that you feel that we can add value. If we both feel its a good fit, we get started.
Our fees are based on your situation and the services rendered. We have three basic options.
1. Just a Plan. Think of this as going to an architect with your dreams and your budget. We will help you develop a comprehensive plan (blueprints) that you will go implement yourself.
You will be responsible for implementing the recommendations yourself…tax, investment, insurance, estate, etc. This engagement typically lasts 3-6 months. This option is best for the DIY types.
We charge a flat fee for Just a Plan, starting at $5,000.
2. Hourly. You just need a little time and some questions answered. Our hourly rate is $350 per hour.
3. Ongoing, comprehensive financial planning and investment management.
We will help develop the plan and serve as the general contractor, hire sub-contractors, build it, and provide ongoing maintenance and repairs. This option is best for those that want to delegate and go enjoy their lives.
This may include, but is not limited to the following:
*Tax preparation & filing, trust administration, and estate planning document creation are done through our various alliances with legal, accounting, and estate planning firms.
For this option, we charge a percentage of the total household portfolio value that we manage.
If you’re concerned about something, you need to let us know. If you don't tell us, we'll assume everything is ok. A successful relationship is based on 2-way communication, mutual respect, honesty, and trust.
Please contact us when you have a question, concern, or issue that needs to be addressed regarding...
Everyone has a different stomach for market ups and downs and varying opinions about the potential impacts of current events. We don’t reach out each time a politician says something stupid, when the market hiccups, or for the crisis of the day...unless it’s something that we are truly concerned about. If we did, we’d never get anything done, and more importantly, history has taught us that those types of short-term events have virtually no impact on your long-term investment outcomes.
Be a well-prepared, engaged client.
Before we meet, think about the nature of the discussion and what you wish to accomplish. Prepare any questions you have in advance. During the meeting, take notes and ask questions until you are comfortable with a concept or suggestion. However, don't feel compelled to reach decisions right away. I encourage you to discuss your questions and concerns with me before making decisions.
Remember, our job is to look out for your best interests and help you achieve your financial goals. Establishing a mutually open, honest relationship is an important step in realizing those goals.
